Tuberculoses

Were you looking for information about Tuberculosis? Tuberculoses is a common misspelling of tuberculosis.

An estimated 10 to 15 million people in the U.S. have latent tuberculosis, a chronic bacterial infection. These people have no symptoms and cannot spread the infection to others but may develop active tuberculosis if they do not receive treatment. The active form of this disease may cause chest pain or a long-lasting cough, and can be fatal. Tuberculosis is largely a preventable disease; prevention focuses on vaccination, preventive treatment in people who have a positive TB test without symptoms, and limited exposure to infectious individuals.
